Installation guide

Important! During installation and operation, observe the general rules of electrical safety regarding the use of electrical appliances, as well as the requirements of regulations on electrical safety. It is strictly forbidden to disassemble a device to which any conductors are connected!

Atom series extension controllers require pre-configuration:

1. Installation

Install the controller and power supply to the DIN rail. Make sure there are no signs of mechanical damage or condensation. If necessary, install additional switchboard equipment - contactors, circuit breakers, power supplies and other automation devices.

2. Power supply

Connect the power supply to the mains via the circuit breaker. Connect the power supply output to the controller's power connector.
Controller power connectors, sensor power outputs and load control outputs for easy installation are made in the form of removable connectors with screw terminals.

Important! Although the controller has built-in protection against incorrect power connection, and in this situation will not fail, we recommend that you pay attention to the correct polarity when connecting.

3. i3-NET

Connect the extension controller to an i3-NET network. Install the end terminators included in the equipment kit at the ends of the bus.

4. Sensors power supply

A 5V and 3.3V controller outputs are provided to power the sensors.

Important! If the system uses sensors or actuators with other operating voltages, use additional power supplies or the power supply that powers the controller. If the system uses several power supplies - connect their "negative" terminals to each other.

5.Output connections

Connect the devices controlled by the module to the outputs. The device has 6 groups of solid-state alternating current relays. The common output of each group is marked L, and all outputs are numbered. There are 3 outputs in each group, except for the second group, where there are 2 outputs and 1 N-contact for the operation of a common zero detector for all dimmed outputs. Each group is implemented in the form of a 4-pin connector and is designed for connecting conductors with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm2.
Examples of connecting loads to the Atom AD8A9 extension module are shown below.

OUT1-OUT5 and OUT15-OUT17 - dimmers for controlling alternating current loads with a supply voltage of 180-250V.
Allows you to control the brightness of lamps and adjust the speed of rotation of fans, pumps and electric motors. The maximum load power for one dimmer channel is 100 W.

OUT Atom AD8A9

OUT6-OUT11 - outputs of solid-state relays designed for noiseless switching of direct and alternating current loads with a voltage of up to 250V and a power of up to 80W per channel.
OUT12-OUT14 - outputs of solid-state relays designed for silent switching of direct and alternating current loads with a voltage of up to 250V and a power of up to 100W per channel.

6. Done. Turn on the power

Important! Check all connections. Make sure that the power supply, inputs and outputs are connected correctly.

List of typical problems and their solutions

  • The device is turned on, but is not visible in the application settings

    1. Check the presence of supply voltage on the module2. Check the polarity of the power supply

  • The load does not turn on or reacts incorrectly

    1. Check the correctness and reliability of the connection2. Check if the connected load operates properly
