Installation guide

Important! During installation and operation, observe the general rules of electrical safety regarding the use of electrical appliances, as well as the requirements of regulations on electrical safety. It is strictly forbidden to disassemble a device to which any conductors are connected!
Before connecting sensors or other devices, make sure that the controller is turned off and not powered.

Atom series controllers require pre-configuration:

1. Installation

Install the controller and power supply to the DIN rail. Make sure there are no signs of mechanical damage or condensation. If necessary, install additional switchboard equipment - contactors, circuit breakers, power supplies and other automation devices.

2. Power supply

Connect the power supply to the mains via the circuit breaker. Connect the power supply output to the controller's power connector.
Controller power connectors, sensor power outputs and load control outputs for easy installation are made in the form of removable connectors with screw terminals.

Important! Although the controller has built-in protection against incorrect power connection, and in this situation will not fail, we recommend that you pay attention to the correct polarity when connecting

3. i3-NET

If your system uses multiple controllers, connect them to a i3-NET network. Install the end terminators included in the equipment kit at the ends of the bus.

4. Connecting devices

Devices on the RS-485 bus are connected to the controller using twisted pair cable, which significantly improves noise immunity and is a mandatory requirement for connecting all devices operating via the Modbus protocol. Using twisted pair allows creating lines up to 1200 meters long, which practically satisfies all home automation needs. It is also important to ensure sufficient distance between data cables and power cables. Shielded cable is often used to improve noise immunity.
A mandatory condition for reliable operation of the RS-485 interface, according to the standard, is the presence of termination resistors at both ends of the bus. These resistors are included in the supply kit of Atom controllers.
The bus topology is linear, with minimal branch length for connecting peripheral devices.

5. Done. Turn on the power

Important! Check all connections. Make sure that the power supply, inputs and outputs are connected correctly.

List of typical problems and their solutions

  • 1. Check the supply voltage on the controller2. Check the polarity of the power supply

  • 1. Make sure Wi-Fi and bluetooth are turned on on your smartphone or tablet2. Verify that the home network password is specified correctly in the controller settings3. Check the correct connection of the i3-NET bus
