Connecting devicesvia matter protocol (Apple home)

Integration of Atom controllers with the Apple Home-based management system can be achieved using the Matter protocol. Data exchange in this case occurs between the Atom Extension Matter and the Matter Hub. Following devices could be used as the Matter Hub: HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K (3rd generation), or iPad. The setup procedure for these devices is detailed on the website https://support.apple.com

1

Setting up Matter Hub

Set up the Matter Hub according to the user guide (you need to provide the account and configure the network).

Important! The Matter Hub, Atom Matter Bridge, and the device used for setup must be connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.

2

Connecting the Atom Matter Bridge

Install the Atom Extension Matterin the electrical panel. Connect it to the Atom controllers using the i3-NET (CAN) and power it on.
Using Matter protocol, you can add the following devices:● Lighting: LED lamps, standard lamps, dimmable lamps, DALI lamps.● Sockets, fans, extractors (adjustable fans and extractors), garage doors, and electric locks with pulse control.● 0-10V/1-10V Interface Devices: Lighting, motors, fans.● LED Strips: Single-color/RGB/RGBW.● Modbus Protocol Devices: Lighting, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, precipitation sensors, light sensors, tilt sensors, open/close sensors, leak sensors, motion sensors, smoke sensors, atmospheric pressure sensors.● Sensors: Light sensors, motion sensors, open/close sensors (reed switches), leak sensors, smoke sensors, precipitation sensors, all types of temperature sensors - 1-Wire, NTC, PT.● Thermostats: Cooling, heating, PID.

Note: Using the Atom Matter Bridge, you can transfer up to 120 devices configured on Atom controllers(in i3 Home App) to the Matter Hub. Using Matter protocol, you can add the following devices:

Organize accessories by room and zone

Choose a room from the provided list or create a new one, then click "Next."
Enter a name for the device (bridge).
If the device is successfully added, a confirmation message will appear

Repeat steps 3-4 to set up the placement of other devices.

Important! All devices added to Apple Home will initially be assigned to the same room as the Atom Extension Matter.

After connecting all devices, they will be displayed on the dashboard of the Home app.

Data from sensors will not be displayed until the Bridge or Hub is restarted.
Currently, in the Apple Home app, thermostats can only be controlled, meaning the measured temperature values are not displayed.

Note: that some devices may not immediately appear in Apple Home, some may appear over time, and some may only appear after restarting the Atom Extension Matter and Matter Hub.

The result of the described steps:

Devices configured in i3 Home are displayed on the Apple Home control panel.
If a new device is configured on the controller (i3 Home App.) after connecting and setting up the Atom Extension Matter, it will be created in Apple Home when automatic setup is selected and if there is still space on the Matter Bridge. When a device is removed, it will become inactive in Apple Home.
For Apple Home, you can set up personal automations using the “Shortcuts” app on iPhone/iPad. With these automations, you can implement functionalities such as:
● Opening/closing gates when approaching the house● Controlling devices using voice commands and triggers● Triggering actions when receiving emails and notifications

Important! Automations are not transferred from the controller (i3 Home App.) to the Matter Hub. They are configured separately, so it is necessary to ensure that there are no conflicts between the configured automations.

To detach the Atom Extension Matter, press the button through the hole on the front cover of the device for 5 seconds. To restart the Atom Extension Matter, the device needs to be disconnected from the power supply.
