Automations, scenarios, templates, thermostats

After configuring end devices in the i3 Home system, they can be controlled using a mobile application, such as turning the lamp on or off. In order to configure the algorithm of devices depending on certain conditions, you need to create rules in the i3 Home mobile application. There are 4 types automations: automation, scenario, template, thermostat. Let's dwell in more detail on their features

Automation

Automation is the reaction (change of state) of the executing device to a given event. The simplest example of automation is turning the lamp on / off when the switch key is pressed, the condition here is pressing the switch key, and the action is to change the lighting state.

Scenario

One of the biggest benefits of home automation is the ability to use scenarios. A scenario is a customized, coordinated operation of several devices in a home.

The difference between a scenario and automation:
1. Automation is an algorithm of actions, for which it is necessary to specify the condition, the executing device (devices) and its action. And the scenario contains only a list of devices indicating their actions.
2. Automation starts when the condition is met, and the scenario can be run simply from the mobile application. This leads to another feature - scenarios are displayed on the dashboard.
3. Scenarios can be used in automations, for example, when you press the switch button - run the scenario.

Examples of scenarios:

Everyone left the house - when you leave, press the configured key: the light / controlled sockets are turned off, the curtains are closed, the house will go into energy saving mode.We are at home - the lights and controlled sockets will be turned on. House will go out of energy saving modeEvening - the curtains close, the main light turns on at 70% brightness, the backlight turns on.Cinema - the curtains close, the lights go out slowly, the controlled sockets of the TV and the speaker system are switched onSleep - the temperature will drop to more comfortable for sleeping, the lights goes into night modeVacation - the power saving mode is switched on, almost all electrical appliances are switched off, the presence simulation mode is activated - the light will be switched on periodically, the curtains will be opened and closed

Thermostats

Indoor climate automation is one of the key functions of a smart home. To optimize the process of setting up climate equipment in the mobile application, the category Thermostats has been created. Now setting the desired climate in the room is as simple as possible and requires only a few steps, indicating the necessary parameters and devices used.
Setting the thermostat:● only the temperature sensor and the actuator are required for the thermostat to work;● you can create several thermostats according to your needs;● different thermostats can take data from one temperature sensor;● thermostats can participate in automation, so additional conditions can be created for their operation;

Templates

Templates are used in the mobile application to simplify the configuration of standard automations with many parameters. In addition, templates allow you to implement automations that can not be created using the usual interface.
Templates are convenient to use for quick configuration of device interaction, as the configuration process is already described in the application. All you have to do is select the device involved in automation and set the desired parameters.
