The implementation of the i3 Engineering automation system at the Petrol Station "OKKO" was aimed at improving energy efficiency. We integrated lighting control (DALI protocol) and climate control (Modbus) into a single intelligent ecosystem operating autonomously 24/7.
Implemented functionality
Lighting (DALI). The system automatically adjusts brightness across 6 zones of the Petrol Station. During the day, lighting output adapts to the level of natural light (from 50% to 100%). At night, brightness is reduced to an energy-saving 50% when no motion is detected, instantly returning to maximum when customers are present.
Facade lighting is automatically controlled based on sunrise and sunset according to the astronomical calendar, as well as the level of natural light during overcast conditions.
Climate. Air conditioners are integrated into the system via IR modules. The automation maintains a stable temperature of 20°C during the day and 22°C at night, checking settings every 30 minutes. This eliminates human error and prevents inefficient use of resources.
Results and efficiency
After commissioning, control measurements confirmed the high expected efficiency of the solution:
20% reduction in electricity consumption for lighting;74% reduction in electricity consumption for air conditioning.
Thanks to Atom controllers, the facility gained a reliable tool for cost optimization and centralized real-time monitoring of engineering systems.
