Local Connect Usage Scenarios

Data Security:In environments where data security is critical, such as private homes or offices with sensitive information, the Local Connect feature allows you to control your smart home system without an internet connection. All data is transmitted exclusively over a local network, reducing the risk of unauthorized access or hacking.
Offline Setup:In places without internet access but with installed controllers, simply turn on the router, connect your phone and controller to the Wi-Fi network, configure the system, and check its operation. When internet access becomes available,you can set up a cloud connection for remote control.
Restricted Corporate Network:In corporate networks with restricted access, you can set up a local connection for all users who need access to controllers. This allows you to control devices when your phone and controllers are on the same network.
Provider Issues:If internet access is temporarily unavailable, and the controllers are configured to work with a cloud server, you can switch to Local Connect mode and continue to control your smart home system.

Basic Requirements for Using Local Connect:

Software Versions:Controller: firmware version 1.5 or higher.Mobile app: version 0.11.3 or higher.
Local Network: Controllers and phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Functional LimitationsUser Rights: All Local Connect users have "Owner" rights.Number of Users: No more than 5 users can be configured simultaneously.Lack of Cloud Integrations: Integrations with cloud services, such as Sonos audio systems, will not work, but local integrations, such as access to video surveillance cameras, remain available.Room Setup: After setting up Local Connect, room names will need to be specified again.Event History: Since historical data is stored on a cloud server, event history will be unavailable.Automations: Notifications configured in automations will not work.

Switching Between Connection Types

Users can switch between cloud access and Local Connect at any time. To do this, simply log out of your account and select the desired connection option.

Local connection is configured on each phone or tablet via Bluetooth, so you need to be physically near the controllers during setup.

Improvements

Planned features include automatic mode selection. This means that after setting up a local connection and cloud connection, the system will automatically switch between them: a local connection will be used when you are at home,and a cloud connection when you leave home. This will significantly increase the speed and stability of the system.
